It is a small white building with two windows on either side of the front door with Dorothy wearing what looks like a long gingham dress. After selling their farm on Lot 12 Concession 13, they moved to the location pictured here, which had previously been Dorothy's grandmother's house (Mrs. Joshua Collins). Joshua Collins purchased the property in 1868 from Benjamin and Sarah Carr for $42.50. Mr and Mrs. Lennox had three sons: John Vaughn, born December 5th, 1922; Allan Dalton, born October 13, 1925; and Gordon Melville, born October 14th, 1928., IHS2290

The wedding photograph of David Peacock and Addie Brown who later became owners of the Painswick General Store. Addie Brown was born on the 5th Concession of Flos and came to Dalston with her parents and family to farm. David Peacock was born in Scotland and came to Canada with his parents as a child. They were married in Dalston. In the photo, David is seated and dressed in a dark suit with pinstripe pants while Addie stands to his left wearing a long light coloured dress with a long sleeved jacket and a white ruffled blouse., IHS4341

Mrs. Maud (Bateman) Moirarity, (Irish name) died in childbirth, her baby died as well. Left to right: Marjorie Moirarity (now Drysdale); Ruth Moirarity (now Stoddard); their father Harry Moirarity; Gladys Moirarity (Mrs. Doug Cooke); Edna Moirarity (she never married); Clarence Moirarity. This picture was taken after Mrs. Maud Moirarity died, her picture is pasted in this photograph. She left all these children when she died. Their father raised them. COSTUME, IHS786

Photo of Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Annie Davis (née Hamilton) of Bond Street, Cookstown, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. The celebration took place on Saturday 25 January 1961. Mr. and Mrs. Davis's family of five daughters and four sons were all present at the celebration except one daughter who was living in the Yukon.

Photo of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cooper at their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1950. On Tuesday April 11, 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cooper celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at their home on Highway 27 about two miles north of Cookstown. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper settled on this farm immediately following their marriage and resided there for the entirety of their lives. They had one son, Arthur, who married Grace Robertson and had three sons: William, John and James.
