Lord and Lady Tweedsmuir
Photo of Sir John Buchan and Lady Susan Buchan (née Grosvenor), also known as Lord and Lady Tweedsmuir. Both were authors and together the couple had four children. Lord Tweedsmuir, the first Baron Tweedsmuir of Elsfield, was appointed Governor General on 10 August 1935 and remained in the position until 1940.
Lorne D. Jack In Dancing Costume
Lorne D. Jack in a dancing costume. He was the originator of Tent City and Dance Hall on the sixth line at the Lake, north side. He started the business using tents, hence the name. Previously he danced in Toronto and New York., IHS840

Lorne D. Jack, son of Thomas Jack, pictured in his dancing costume. He later owned Tent City Dance Hall, at the foot of the sixth line at the Lake, on the north side. He started the business of using tents, hence the name. Lorne Jack was a dancer before starting the business at Tent City and danced in both Toronto and New York City. Costumes, IHS839

Mabel Moir
Mabel Moir who was born on September 16, 1889 in Innisfil Township, second concession, her parents were Jesse and Clara Rainey. She had four brothers, John Albert, Edgar, Ogle and James and a twin sister Maude. Only Mabel survives. She attended Bethesda school. After leaving the farm she purchased a home on Selby Street, Cookstown where she resided with her nephew Clarence Copeland until his demise and moved to her present home on Wellington Street in 1970. About five years ago she was fitted with a pacemaker and had to give up many of her activities in the United Church, the Maple Leaf Club and Fair Board. She still enjoys a game of euchre, her flowers and most of all a chat with her peers. She was very proud of having received the honour. At her side was her niece Mrs. Rogers who is taking care of Mabel whenever she is needed.
