Lillian Soules Lawley, daughter of David Soules, sister of Tom Soules, was born June 28, 1868. Lillian was the daughter of Lount Soules and Sarah Drury. She married Dr. Edward Thomas Seely Yorke (born 1862 in Cape Town, South Africa).

Loading Conveyor with Ice Blocks - Belle Ewart Ice Company

Photo of a group of men loading ice blocks from Lake Simcoe onto a conveyor for storage in a Belle Ewart Ice Company ice house, which used sawdust to preserve the ice through warm summer months. Lake Simcoe ice was shipped near and far for use in ice boxes before the advent of refrigerators, and had an esteemed reputation for purity.
