New Book Honours Innisfil's Veterans

After hundreds of interviews, stories and pictures, the Innisfil Historical Society is pleased to announce that their amazing project, Innisfil Veterans: Their Lives and Memories is now complete and will be revealed to the public on Monday November 11, 2013 from 2-8 pm at Innisfil's Town Hall. A special ceremony honouring all living Innisfil veterans will be held at 2:30pm. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this unique event of the 2013 fall season.

From the earliest times of conflict to the peacekeeping missions of today, Innisfil men and women have stepped forward to defend their country. Whatever their military role—be it as part of the expeditionary forces or the artillery; whether as a sapper, a stoker, a craftsman, a nursing sister, a dispatch deliverer, an infantry man, an airframe mechanic, or a peacekeeper—each has been cog in the wheel of seeking world peace. This book was created to honour and thank the Veterans of Innisfil, including those who were born here, those who worked here, and those who have moved here.

Nearly 500 pages in size, including a complete index of all names, this hardcover book will capture your attention as the stories of both long-forgotten names and current ones unfold. Preorder your copy at the special prices mentioned in the brochure and drop in on November 11th to pick it up and meet an Innisfil Veteran or two.

You can pre-order your copy today by printing the order form here and sending it along with your cheque to the Innisfil Historical Society.
